Prepare to major solar storm

NASA warns that huge solar storm is coming closer to the earth and may hit satellite technologies. It will reach the planet on the 6th of May.

According to the new report made by NASA scientists, the sun has revealed enormous amount its cosmic particles from three coronal holes, and now they are heading towards our planet.

The report warns that these particles would be turned into a solar storm or geomagnetic storm with time.

This report was followed by the statement from National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. They said that there is a possibility of geomagnetic storm of the G1 class when the cosmic material arrives.

Scientists told that sky watchers can see auroras on weekend, in the southern hemisphere in particular. Autumn darkness will make Southern Lights visible from long distance.

Meanwhile, some researchers believe that such a severe solar storm may bring worse consequences for the earth than the good visibility of auroras.

They say that upcoming storm can affect satellite-based earth technologies and there will be tech blackout. No phone, no TV, basically no electricity at all.

The magnetic or solar storm has a temporary effect. It is provoked by the solar wind (particles streamed from the sun) that reaches magnetosphere of Earth. There are 5 different categories of the storm, depending on its power. G1 has low destructive energy, while G5 can cause damage.

Joint Research Centre in European Union warns that solar storms may harm control and navigation systems across the railway continent’s network.

There is also a warning from doctors. They believe higher number of radiation from the storm can make people weaker and vulnerable to such disease as cancer. There is also a warning for people who have high or low blood pressure.

Meanwhile, scientists said that number of these coronal holes on the sun is getting lower in the 2018 year.
